Annual County Convention 2018
November 26, 2018
The Annual Limerick County Convention of Comhaltas took place on Wednesday night last, November 21st in Woodlands House Hotel, Adare. The meeting was chaired by Cathaoirleach Séamus Ó Ceallaigh. The meeting was well attended with 10 out of the 13 branches represented – present were CCÉ, Ardacha/Carraig Chiarraí, Áth a’ tSléibhe, Ardacha/Carrigchiarraí, Ballyhahill, Caisléan Uí Chonaill/Atháin/Baile Iorbairt, Cluain Chreadhail, Garraí Eoin, Má Rua/An Cheapach Mhór, Craobh Naomh Mhichíl and Teampall a’ Ghleanntáin. This is the most important meeting of the year for the County Board as it is where the officers for the coming year are elected and reports given on the work of the County Board over the past year.
The guest speaker on the night was John Stack, former PRO of CCÉ Kerry. John has just stepped down from the position at the recent Kerry AGM having served 5 years. John developed a very successful website for Kerry Comhaltas during his tenure. Our own County PRO, Séamus Ó hAirtnéide launched Co. Limerick website at the AGM having put in a huge amount of work over the past year to get the website up and running. The website will be the go-to for all Comhaltas members in the county for up to date news and information on their own branch and Comhaltas in the county. It is vital for all branch PROs and Secretaries to send on any news or information to Séamus (prolimerickcce@gmail.com) as often as possible to make this new website a success.
