Congratulations to our craobh representatives at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Drogheda at the weekend on winning All Ireland medals in ten events as follows,
Feadóg 12-15: 2nd Éimhear Ní Fhlannabhra,
Lilting 15-18: 3rd Liam Ó Brúdair,
Concertina 12-15: 1st Éimhear Ní Fhlannabhra,
Concertina O18: 3rd Máire Ní Chonchúir,
Accompaniment O18: 2nd Ian Mac Síthigh,
Amhránaíocht 15-18: 3rd Liam Ó Brúdair,
Singing Fé 12: 1st Cáit Ní Chonchúir,
Singing 15-18: 1st Liam Ó Brúdair,
Comhrá Gaeilge 15-18: 3rd Caoimhe Ní Fhlannabhra
Scéalaíocht 12-15: Éimhear Ní Fhlannabhra.
It is a wonderful achievement to be among the prizewinners at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Great credit is due to their teachers and parents who encouraged them along the way. Local classes will be getting underway again shortly and it is hoped that many young people will avail of the opportunity provided to them. Enrolment for the new season of traditional music classes will take place at Halla Inse Bán, Templeglantine on Monday, September 2nd, 7pm – 8.15pm. Most instruments associated with traditional music catered for. Enquiries to 087 9654451
