I hope you are all keeping well in these exceptionally strange times. As I'm sure many of you have witnessed already, our culture of performing has really come to the fore in providing great entertainment and an escape from the troubles of the outside world. Whether it has come from within our own homes or indeed from the many performers that have shared their talents online, this has truly become a time for us to nourish and show off our artistic flair. 

As you are all well aware, Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh which was due to take place over the June Bank Holiday weekend, along with Munster and All-Ireland Fleadhs have been cancelled and we look forward with great anticipation to their return next year, God willing. But just because we can't gather in Athea for our regular County Fleadh doesn't mean that we can't share our enthusiasm and love for our culture in some other way.

With that, I am extending an invitation to all Limerick branches and all their members young and not so young to share their talents with us on our Facebook page. Over the next few weeks I invite everyone who wants to play a reel, dance a jig, lilt a hornpipe, whistle a polka, dance a half set, sing a song or tell a story to send a video to me following the few simple instructions below. I will then post videos on the Limerick Comhaltas Facebook in the week leading up to and over the weekend the Limerick Fleadh should have been taking place.

Please share this message with all your members and I will accept videos from now up until 1st June. I look forward to hearing the wealth of talent that Limerick has to offer!

• Take a video on your phone or whatever recording device you have in landscape format
• Send the video via WhatApp to Séamus (County PRO) on 0870611949
  • NB: You will have to add Séamus as a contact to be able to send the video
• Please include the following details when sending the video:
  • Name(s) of performer(s)
  • Branch
  • Names of tunes/songs etc

By sending a video, you are implicitly giving Comhaltas permission to use the videos of your child/children on the web, social media sites and for promotional purposes.
